19 and Mostly Sunny

I went for a run on the weekend in the beautiful Grose Valley in Blackheath. The forecast was 19 and mostly sunny, it was going to be a perfect day for running. Unfortunately not looking too much into the forecast i took mostly sunny to mean a bit of cloud. This was not the case.

Arriving at Blackheath at 6am in a massive downpour with thick fog and no visibility i thought perhaps this is not going to be the day i thought it was going to be. I adjusted my gear to suit the weather and continued with my planned run. It was tough there was very little visibility and the rain had made everything slippery. But i just focused on continually moving forwards.

After a while the sun came out, the track got easier and the fog started to lift. I was greeted with the view seen in the photo above. The run got easier and the forecast was correct, it was 19 and mostly sunny.

It got me thinking about my journey into my new business. By all accounts forecasts look good, but the initial journey is clouded with so many obstacles.

Cash flow, sales and marketing, self doubt and fear of the unknown are the rain, fog and slippery rocks i encountered on the weekend. I may need to adjust my strategy slightly to deal with these, but i just need to get through and focus on the forecast and keep moving forward.
